Radio Teletype

I first started to using RTTY back in 1979. Back in those days it took two strong men just to get the RTTY unit inside the shack. When you fired it up it shook the whole house. Now things are a lot easier. All you need is a computer with a sound card, some free software, a couple cables to attach it to your radio, and your ready to go.

A few years ago I got interested in RTTY Contesting. It has now become my favorite part of Ham radio. I operate around 20 contests a year sometimes making more than 12,000 contacts in a single year.
